Palo Alto Weekly

The Palo Alto Weekly was founded in 1979 by a group of long-time local residents who believed that Palo Alto needed a high quality newspaper devoted only to the immediate area. Today, while the area's daily newspapers attempt to serve the Peninsula's diverse communities, the Weekly has found its niche in serving the Palo Alto-Menlo Park area.

The Weekly has been delivered into the homes since its inception, becoming a trusted and welcomed source of thoughtful news reporting, analysis, feature writing and arts and entertainment coverage the community has come to depend on. To this date, no other daily newspaper serving the area can match its distribution or penetration in this market, easily marking it the most cost-effective medium to reach the affluent Midpeninsula communities.

In March of 1993, after almost 14 years of weekly publishing, the Palo Alto Weekly began publishing twice a week, on Wednedays and Fridays - significantly expanding its editorial and advertising coverage. It is delivered to a significant number of homes in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton, Portola Valley, Stanford, East Palo Alto and northern Los Altos Hills as well as to most local businesses. An additional mailed circulation on Friday of the Real Esatate and Classified section reaches most homes in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Woodside.
