Pleasanton Weekly | |
Ever since the locally-owned Pleasanton Times newspaper was sold in the late 1960s, the daily newspapers serving the area have given less and less attention to Pleasanton news and the people who make Pleasanton a special community. With the Tri-Valley Herald and the Valley Times battling each other to become regional media powerhouses, the Pleasanton Weekly was established in early 2000 with the sole aim of focusing on the news and events effecting those who live in Pleasanton. While the two dailies each reach only one-third of the homes in Pleasanton, the Weekly is mailed to every home, making it the only publication to offer blanket coverage of Pleasanton. The Weekly believes the role of a newspaper is to get the community talking to itself. It is committed to making sure Pleasanton has a responsible, high-quality newspaper that reflects and serves our unique community. It is mailed free every Friday to a majority of single family homes, condos, townhouses and many apartments in Pleasanton, plus additional street distribution in commercial districts throughout the city. A major strength of the Pleasanton Weekly is its targeted circulation. For the same reason that businesses choose Pleasanton for store locations, the Weekly keeps its focus on Pleasanton. That means there is no wasted circulation, and editorial coverage is focused. The Pleasanton Weekly receives reliable carrier delivery every week. Combined with a very visible street distribution, advertisers receive the most efficient distribution of their message to prospective customers. |
